UNDP

EBN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which connects 166 countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. EBN and the BICs are actively cooperating with UNDP to identify best pactices in innovative technologies, innovative methodologies and services which contribute to sustainable human development.

EBN is a contract partner of the European Patent Office which provides a uniform application procedure for individual inventors and companies seeking patent protection in up to 38 European countries.

FP5/6/7

The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) is the European Union´s chief instrument for funding research over the period 2007 to 2013 with a budget in excess of €50 billion. EBN and the BICs have been active partners of FP5, FP6 and FP7.

CIP

The Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) of DG Enterprise and Industry aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises. With small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as its main target, the programme aims to support innovation activities (including eco-innovation), provide better access to finance and deliver business support services in the regions. It will encourage a better take-up and use of ICT and promote the increased use of renewable energies and energy efficiency. The programme runs from 2007 to 2013.

Europe Innova

Europe INNOVA is an initiative for innovation professionals supported by the European Commission under FP6. The Europe INNOVA platform supported by the EC under FP6 provides a focal point for innovation networking on a sectoral basis in Europe. Within Europe Innova, EBN coordinated initiatives in the area of satellite applications and Knowledge Intensive Services.

EU year of creativity & innovation

2009 - The European Year of Creativity and Innovation has the objective to raise awareness of importance of creativity and innovation for personal, social and economic development, to disseminate good practices, stimulate education and research, and promote policy debate and development. EBN will support these objectives through specific dissemination actions in 2009.

European (EC) Networks

EEN

Launched in 2008 by the European Commission, the Enterprise Europe Network combines and builds on the former Innovation Relay Centres (IRC) and Euro Info Centers (EIC). The new integrated Network provides services such as a business partner searches and information on EU funding opportunities, EU law etc.

As the BIC network is complementary to the EEN network providing specialized innovation and support services to start up companies and existing SMEs, many BICs cooperate closely with their EEN partners on the ground.

In 2009 EBN becomes an associate member of EEN.

EBAN

EBAN is the European trade association for early stage investors, an independent and non-profit association representing the interests of business angels networks (BANs), early stage venture capital funds and other entities involved in bridging the equity gap in Europe.

Proton Europe

ProTon created in 2003 by the European Commission is the representative association of some 500 Knowledge Transfer Offices, reaching almost 600 universities and public research organisations across Europe. ProTon provides policy advice, facilitates benchmarking and the exchange of best practice between members.

Wainova

Wainova, the world alliance for innovation, is is an alliance of associations which aim to contribute to the world’s economic and social development by promoting innovation, technology transfer and the establishment of technology- and innovation-based companies. ANIMA

ANIMA Investment Network is a multi-country platform for the economic development of the Mediterranean. The network gathers around forty investment promotion agencies (IPA), international networks and territorial development players across the Mediterranean. ANIMA Investment Network is opened to any IPA, community, enterprise, organisation interested in the economic development of the Mediterranean.

ITC

The Russian Union of Innovation Centres representing over 100 innovation centres, technoparks and science cities throughout Russia. Through an MOU with EBN, both organisations aim to benefit from opportunities for the exchange of best innovation practices and develop B2B internationalisation opportunities.

 

MEA-I

EBN is a board member of the Micro-Enterprise Acceleration Institute (MEA-I) an international, non-profit organization that facilitates knowledge and access to IT by designing, implementing, and deploying digital acceleration centers, student-centered teaching and innovative learning programs through widely available technology. MEA-I is mainly sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (HP).

ENOLL

The European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) is the international federation of benchmarked Living Labs in Europe and worldwide. Founded in November 2006 under the auspices of the Finnish European Presidency, the network has grown in ‘waves’ up to this day. To this date, 6 Waves have been launched, resulting in over 300 accepted Living Labs. EUPIC Chengdu

EU Project Incubation Centre (EUPIC) is a non-profit organization which is supported by the EU, Sichuan provincial government, Chengdu municipal government and Chengdu Hitech Industrial zone. EUPIC is the only EU-supported project incubation centre in China. EUPIC

ANPROTEC

The Brazilian Association of Science Parks and Business Incubators was created in 1987 and is now an institutional reference for entrepreneurship and innovation in Brazil. Nowadays it is the hub of a vibrant globally connected movement, with regional and state networks all over the country. It comprises circa 400 incubators and 20 parks in operation, involving 6500 innovative firms.  Among the key partners are SEBRAE (the national organisation to support small business) and the Ministry of Science and Technology, directly and through its agencies - CNPq (the national S&T council) and FINEP (the national innovation agency).

COPARMEX

The Employers Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX) is a voluntary membership business organization, which brings together entrepreneurs from all sectors, looking through representation in the workplace and society. Its more than 36,000 member companies across the country wich are responsible for 30% of GDP and 4.8 million formal jobs.  COPARMEX consists of a network of 65 business centers , 10 Federations, 3 Performances and 14 delegations in all states of the Republic. SMEA

Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, an organization under the control of Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, is the competent authority in the business incubation industry of Taiwan. SMEA mission is the following: formulate plans for development of SMEs and relevant Legislation, to provide guidance and undertake the inspection of SMEs, to provide assistance for the improvement of SMEs technology in production, training and other related matters, to provide support for entrepreneurial activity and innovation, to coordinate the provision of financing for new start-ups and to coordinate incubator operations.

HP

Through their strategic partnership with HP, EBN and the BIC network have been actively involved in the development and implementation of the Micro-enterprise Acceleration Program (MAP) which provides micro-enterprises – businesses with up to ten employees – with the right training to be able to solve everyday business challenges, so they can grow and create new jobs. EBN signed a cooperation agreement with Auchan in 2008 reflecting the interests and activities of EBN members in the agro-food sector as evidenced through the development of the FOOD-BIC network.
