- Europe 2020 strategy (March 2010)
The EU's Europe 2020 strategy for
smart, sustainable and inclusive growth was launched by the European
Commission in March 2010 and approved by the Heads of States and
Governments of EU countries in June 2010. The document sets out concrete
targets to be achieved within the next decade in areas such as
employment, education, energy use and innovation in order to overcome
the impact of the financial crisis and put Europe back on track for
economic growth. It is supported by 7 flagship initiatives:
European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS)
The European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS) attempts to benchmark, on a yearly basis, the innovation performance of Member States, drawing on statistics from a variety of sources, primarily the Community Innovation Survey. European Economic Recovery Plan - COM (2008) 800
